THE REALITY

You've tried everything.
She still feels lost.

Whether you oversee a detention center, residential program, or alternative school — you've seen it. The same girls cycling through. The same behaviors returning.Because the issue was never the behavior. It's the broken identity driving it.

4 Reasons Why It's Been So Hard to Reach Her

Identity Confusion

She doesn't know who she is — only who the world says she should be.

Emotional Distress

Overwhelming emotions she can't identify — let alone control.

Repeating Cycles

The same behaviors, the same consequences, the same heartbreak — on loop.

Feeling Unheard

She wants to be seen, known, and listened to — not just managed.

Meet the Founder

Practitioner. Founder. A Voice for Her.

She Saw the Gap. She Built the Answer. She's Still in the Room.

Margerae Jackson, LPC Doctoral Candidate, Behavioral Health Management

Hi, I'm Margerae Jackson a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience working with adolescents and adults across psychiatric, outpatient, and correctional settings.

My work has spanned individual, group, and family therapy with youth ages 5–17, as well as high-acuity and incarcerated populations. Through thousands of sessions, I've walked closely with girls navigating deep-rooted behavioral and emotional challenges and I kept seeing the same gap.

Programs focused on behavior. The identity beneath it remained broken.

Over time, one pattern became undeniable: when identity isn't restored, behavior always returns.

I built S.H.E Is Uprooted from the front lines, because I knew something was missing. A psychoeducational, identity-first approach that doesn't just teach girls to act differently, but helps them see themselves differently. That's where lasting change begins.

While my clinical background informs everything I do, S.H.E is Uprooted operates as a psychoeducational program not a clinical treatment service.

For me, that foundation is also deeply faith-rooted. I believe true transformation happens through renewal — of the mind, the identity, and the story a girl believes about herself.

Because real transformation doesn't start with behavior. It starts with identity.

Renew the Mind.
Restore the Girl.

S.H.E Is Uprooted is a faith-integrated psychoeducational program that meets girls where they are and walks them into who they were created to be. We don't just teach better choices — we renew the mind.

Faith-Integrated
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
01
Rooted in Purpose
Every lesson anchors girls to something deeper than behavior — a true sense of who they are and why it matters.
02
Skills That Actually Stick
CBT-based psychoeducational skills give girls a framework to understand their minds, their patterns, and their power to change.
03
A New Story About Herself
She discovers who she truly is — not who her mistakes, her past, or her pain says she is.

Most Programs Treat the Symptom.
We Heal the Root.

S.H.E Is Uprooted is a 12-week psychoeducational program built for adolescent girls who need more than behavior management — they need healing at the root. We address the beliefs, wounds, and internal struggles driving what everyone else sees on the surface. Our approach is evidence-informed, identity-first, and deeply faith-integrated.

12-week identity transformation for girls 13–17

How It Works
The Root Framework
Four steps that go where most programs never do — beneath the behavior, to the identity underneath.
01
Surface
We start where everyone else stops — with what's visible. The behavior, the patterns. We use them as the entry point, not the end point.
02
Story
Every behavior has a story behind it. We help her uncover the narrative she's been telling herself — about who she is and what's possible for her.
03
Root
This is where the real work happens. We go beneath the story to the identity wound driving it all — and we heal it there, at the source.
04
Rebuild
With a restored sense of identity, everything shifts. She doesn't just behave differently — she sees herself differently. And that's what lasts.
"When identity heals, behavior follows."

The Data Behind the Work
"Of youth released from juvenile detention are rearrested within 2–3 years — yet most programs never address the identity driving the behavior."
Surface-level interventions don't stick because they never reach the root. S.H.E Is Uprooted goes deeper — targeting identity where lasting change actually begins.

Emotion
She stops being afraid of what she feels and starts learning what it's telling her.
Voice
She stops shrinking to survive and starts standing to lead.

Behavior

General
S.H.E. Is Uprooted is a 12-week, identity-first psychoeducational program designed for adolescent girls ages 13–17. Using evidence-informed curriculum, we go beneath the behavior to heal the identity driving it — so change lasts beyond any program or placement.
The program is designed for adolescent girls ages 13–17 who are navigating crisis, transition, or placement — and the institutions, families, and communities that serve them.
Most programs address behavior. We address the identity beneath it. Rather than managing what a girl does, we help her understand who she believes she is — and rebuild from there. When identity shifts, behavior follows.
S.H.E. Is Uprooted is a psychoeducational program — not a clinical treatment service. Our curriculum is evidence-informed and facilitated by a trained professional, but it is not therapy and does not replace clinical care. It is designed to complement existing clinical teams.
Yes. S.H.E. Is Uprooted is rooted in a Christian worldview. Faith is woven into the curriculum as a framework for identity, purpose, and renewal — not forced as a requirement. Girls of all backgrounds are welcomed and respected.

S.H.E. Is Uprooted is available in person, virtually, and in a hybrid format depending on your institution's needs and capacity.
Cohorts are intentionally kept small — typically 8 to 15 participants — to ensure every girl is seen, heard, and engaged throughout the process.
The program runs 12 weeks with structured weekly sessions. Each session runs approximately 60 to 90 minutes depending on the setting and cohort size.
Outcomes & Impact
Our program aims to produce lasting shifts in self-perception, identity, and internal narrative — which in turn reduce behavioral incidents, improve emotional regulation, and increase engagement in other programming.
Behavior is a symptom. When a girl's sense of identity is fractured, her behavior reflects that fracture. By healing identity at the root, we reduce the internal drivers of behavioral cycles rather than simply managing their expression.
Topics include identity and self-perception, understanding behavior and its root causes, emotional awareness, internal narrative, purpose and values, healing from past experiences, and building a foundation for lasting change.
Yes — these are woven throughout the curriculum. While we do not provide trauma therapy, our psychoeducational framework helps girls understand and process these areas through structured learning and guided reflection.
Progress is measured through pre and post program self-assessments, facilitator observations, and participant reflections documented in the workbook. Institutional partners may also track behavioral incident data before and after program delivery.
Logistics & Operations
We ask that partner institutions provide a consistent space for weekly sessions, identify a point of contact for coordination, and commit to supporting participant attendance and engagement throughout the 12 weeks.
The program is facilitated by S.H.E. Is Uprooted trained staff. Institutional staff are not required to facilitate but are encouraged to remain informed and supportive of the process.
Yes. All participant workbooks and facilitator materials are included as part of the partnership agreement.
Licensing opportunities are available for organizations that meet our training and alignment requirements. Contact us to discuss licensing options.
Onboarding begins with a consultation call to assess fit, followed by a partnership agreement, scheduling, and a brief orientation for institutional staff before sessions begin.
Yes. Every participant who completes the program receives a Certificate of Completion — a meaningful marker of her commitment, growth, and transformation.
Faith Integration
Faith is woven into the curriculum as a lens for identity, purpose, and renewal — drawing from a Christian worldview. It is offered as a framework for meaning, not imposed as a requirement.
Yes. We offer a modified secular curriculum for institutions where faith-based content is not appropriate. The psychoeducational depth and identity framework remain fully intact.
No. Girls of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcomed, respected, and met where they are. Faith is never a requirement for participation.
